Yes, I know I forgot to give you my predictions but I won’t forget this week. So here is the list from this past weekend. It shouldn’t shock you that Dr. Seuss’ “Horton Hears a Who” is still in the theaters and still making the top 10 list, actually this week they made #6 so it is slowly going off the list. Horton has already made over $125,000 in theaters and the DVD sales are yet to come.

1 Prom Night- This is one I defnitely want to see. Imagine going to a prom knowing a big dark secret and a serial killer telling you he wasn’t done with you yet. Donna’s prom night is anything but fun when a pyscho from her past is out of prison and makes her and her friends the target of his obsession.

51uf0u7znsl__sl500_aa240_.jpg

This week there were over 59 new tv shows that were released on DVD, this includes new and old ones. Can you think back to the 80s for a moment and remember some of your favorite tv shows would’ve been? I always loved ALF, Silver Spoons, Charles in Charge, Punky Brewster as well as many others. What were yours? A die-hard fan of Mork and Mindy by chance?

The West Wing - The Complete Sixth Season- This 6 disc set will let you relive Season 6 on West Wing with 22 episodes.

Party of Five - The Complete Third Season- Go back in time and watch the 5 disc set of Party Of Five, this 1100 hours of memories. Julia and Griffin try to find a place in their relationship.

Reba - Seasons 1-4- My favorite new rerun to watch every day and now I can purchase it so I don’t need to change the kids’ cartoons when it is time to come on. Watch as Reba, a single mother of three kids tries to deal with life living next door to her ex-husband and the lady that stole her husband.

Others that I won’t give a brief are: Daybreak, Sliders Season 4, Painkiller Jane, Midsomer Murders, The Invisible Man Season 1, Frisky Dingo Season 1, Noble House, The Price is Right, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and so many more.

Now I knew they’d be a hit but I didn’t think they’d make that much money that quick. See those geeks are still rolling in the dough.

Okay as for my predictions, it seems I did get 8 out of the ten but not in the right order. Will you play with me next week?

Dr. Seuss; Horton Hears a Who raked in $45.1 million. I expected this one being the first especially since it is a kid movie and everyone growing up has read at least one Dr.Seuss book. Horton hears a Who is all about Horton the elephant hearing a tiny voice on a flower and decides he must protect it at all costs.

Join the Disney Movie Club

by Eliza Ferree

My kids are hooked on all those Disney programs that are always on tv from Mickey Mouse to Life with Derek or Suite Life of Zach and Cody. They’d love it if they could watch it all day, every day but they can’t. But now Disney has a movie club. I had no clue they were doing this until someone asked me if I was a member. So far, I’m not a member, but only because I need to sort out my bills first. I think this is a great program, kind of like NetFlix or Blockbuster but for kids.

Right now you can get in on the Disney deal and get 4 movies for $1.99 each plus free shipping and handling. Can’t beat that right? Movies such as Ratatouille, Meet the Robinsons, Cars, Fox and Hound or even Mary Poppins 40th Anniversary Edition.

Begin Your Disney DVD Collection Today - Join Disney Movie Club!

Will you be joining? Let me know how you like it if you do. This sounds like a great plan. Think back to when you were a kid, what types of movies did you like? Was there a favorite Disney show/movie you liked? If so maybe they have it listed. I know I’ve looked for a ton of movies at movie rentals and either they were scratched or didn’t have them. Disney Movie club has a ton to go through though. Soar through the air with Aladin and then take a hop on a floating log with Davy Crocket, but don’t forget to use your imagination just like in Winnie the Pooh.

In Theater Clip of the Week: Horton Hears a Who!

by Eliza Ferree

Horton hears a who!Horton Hears a Who! comes out in theater today! This is definitely one I want to see, but it won’t be happening this week, but I’d love to hear your take on it.

Horton Hears a Who! is from the old story from Dr.Seuss, Horton the elephant finds a a small flower with a speck of dust on it. Luckily for the people of Whoville he doesn’t just blow it off, instead of just being a speck of dust it is an entire community of little people living on it. Horton develops a friendship with the Who people and realizes he must keep the flower safe in order to save them.

Jim Carrey plays the voice of Horton.

“There is a man that has 96 daughters and 1 son and all share a bathroom. EEEKkkk!”
