Bones Season 1 Disc 2 Side A Wrap Up
This week’s TV on DVD Season I am going through and doing wrap ups of is the four double sided disc Bones Season 1 set. I will be posting about one side of a disc each day until next Monday. This is the wrap up of Side A of the second disc.

“The Man on Death Row” - The episode begins with Booth interviewing Bones to fill out a form to carry a gun. Bones denies her the weapon because of her shooting the unarmed guy in the first episode. A defense lawyer comes to see Booth to ask him to look at evidence again for a man on death row sentenced to die the next day. Booth asks Bones to help look into into the case. Bones thinks the fragments on a x-ray is not bone fragments as previously thought, so she has the the body unburied. They finally identify the DNA to a pubic hair from the lawyer she worked for. When they go to find the murder weapon they find two more bodies. Booth does not want to make the call about finding the bodies because it means the execution will be put on hold, although he thinks the guy killed the other two women as well. In the end they meet with the guy in jail again and when he tries to touch Bones she slams his hand against the table and agree that maybe she should not carry a gun.
“The Girl in the Fridge” - A man gives Bones something she left at his place three years ago. Booth brings in a fridge with a decomposing body. Rather than actually going to dinner Bones and her ex (also was her forensic anthropologist professor) have sex. Bones brings in her ex, who brings up doubts about her assumptions about the girl’s body in the fridge. It turns out her ex is the expert witness for the case against her science. Her ex ends up trashing her work as a forensic anthropologist when on the stand. When Bones testifies she is asked about why she became a forensic anthropologist to help the jury understand why she comes across cold. It also leads to her giving an explanation about the murder that actually makes sense to the common man. Bones gets mad at Booth for having her personal life brought into the testimony, as he asked the lawyer to ask the question about why she is a forensic anthropologist. Bones is not ready to forgive Booth and as a way of apologizing he has her help in a new case with the body being on the scaffolding of the Washington Monument.
“The Man in the Fallout Shelter” - Angela tries to convince Bones to go to the company Christmas party. Before she can convince Bones Booth brings in a body found in a fallout shelter for Bones to examine. Bones finds tickets from an airline that went out of business in the 1960s. As Angela is trying to get them all to go to the Christmas party, Zack cuts into the bones releasing a biohazard that turns out to be valley fever and they all end up automatically locked down in the lab. Because Hodgins did not have his mask on and might have inhaled the valley fever spores and then exhaled them on everyone, they cannot be let out of the locked down lab until they know whether the fungus has taken hold or not. Booth ends up stoned from the anti fungal. Angela tries to get Bones to help her make Christmas in the lab. The whole team first discovers that Booth has a four year old kid. Booth figures out the body is of a guy called Careful Lionel by calling the tailor shop the suit he was wearing was made. A special visiting hour through the glass door is set up for those in the lab to see special loved ones on Christmas Eve, except Bones who has no one that comes to see her. Angela decorates by creating a holographic Christmas Tree. Bones reveals that she does not like Christmas because her parents disappeared shortly before Christmas and her older brother set up Christmas with the presents he found her parents had got and when she saw it she thought her parents were back and the fact they were not and she soon ended up in foster care scarred her. They find out the man was killed for his coin collection and that his lover he was to go to Paris with was an African American. Bones makes a lot of calls to track the woman down to let her know what happened to her lover to bring her closure that Bones does not have. The test results show none of them have valley fever and they all get to go, except Bones has no where to go. Lionel’s to be wife comes to visit Bones in person and she tells her and her granddaugter (also Lionel’s granddaughter as he was about to go to Paris and marry his pregnant girlfriend when he was killed) about what happened to Lionel and gives them a penny found on Lionel that is worth over $100,000. In the end Bones opens up the presents her parents had wrapped for her before they disappeared.
“The Woman at the Airport” - Iron Age remains are found that are in unbelievable shape that Bones is asked to look at and authenticate. Booth then comes in and asks for Bones to come with him to L.A. to work on a case. The body is dismembered found at the L.A. airport. The skull had been altered by lots of surgery. In the skeleton they find a breast implant that helps them identify the body. Meanwhile the head of the Jeffersonian is helping authenticate the iron age remains and Hodgins and him butt heads as they do it. The implants end up being stolen ones. They find out that another stolen implant from the same shipment was recently removed as faulty from a call girl. They track down a guy that got mad at the dead call girl after learning she was a call girl while being his girlfriend. It turns out the woman was addicted to plastic surgery. They find out that she replaced a call girl that had flashy diamond fingernails (one was found with the body) and that girl was jealous of her taking her man.
