TV on DVD Buzz

This week’s TV on DVD Season I am going through and doing wrap ups of is the four double sided disc Bones Season 1 set. I will be posting about one side of a disc each day until next Monday. This is the wrap up of Side B of the third disc.

“The Skull in the Desert” - Angela is on vacation in the desert and her boyfriend has disappeared for days in the desert. She calls Bones and tells her that a skull has been found in a box on the sheriff’s porch. Bones heads off to meet up with Angela and look at the skull, which she does not really think it is her boyfriend’s. The sheriff reluctantly lets Bones look at the skull. Bones calls in Booth to get the sheriff to send the skull to the Jeffersonian. The skull proves to be Angela’s boyfriend. The woman guide he was last with remains missing. They find the rest of Angela’s boyfriend’s body and his camera. The sheriff suspects Angela and reluctantly lets her develop her boyfriend’s film. They find the actual murder site further in the desert where the body was driven to a plane and then dropped where it was found in the desert. It seems related to drug smuggling. Bones, Angela, Booth, and the sheriff go back to the murder site and go off in different directions to find the missing women, who they find alive although dehydrated.

“The Man with the Bone” - A finger bone is found in the hand of a recent victim’s hand. The bone dates to the 17th century and the body is from the island that Blackbeard’s treasure is believed to be buried. The dead guy was one of those working on the dig site that the treasure is believed to be and the bone found in his hand makes it seem like it might really be the treasure site. Hodgins dives the site down to the depth of 200 feet to get a soil sample of the bottom in order to see if that could be the murder site. On the bottom Hodgins finds a complete skeleton that goes with the finger. They think the treasure was found and hence why the recent gut was killed. They suspect his partner because then he would not have to share the profits. It turns out that the body in the treasure shaft was taken from a museum recently. The bones end up stolen again from the Jeffersonian while were investigating the case. The find the theft was done by a security officer. Hodgins goes down again in the middle of the night with the murderer controlling the air hose. Booth aims his gun at the man while the man holds a knife on the air hose. While down in the shaft Hodgins finds gold which convinces the murderer to pull Hodgins up.
