by

This week’s TV on DVD Season I am going through and doing wrap ups of is the six disc Bones Season 2 set. I will be posting about one disc each day until this Saturday. This is the wrap up of the second disc.

Bones Season 2

“The Truth in the Lye” - This episode begins with Booth having an affair with his ex (i.e. the mother of his child). A body is found in a sludgy state in a bathtub in housing being built. The man has brittle bone disease and they track down who it is by looking at the family of children known to have the disease. Booth finds one family with a daughter missing a husband and Bones finds a family with a son missing a husband. When the two compare the family photos it turns out to be the same man leading two separate lives. It turns out the two women met each other at a special needs playground about a week ago. They followed him and found that he made another woman pregnant. The three admit to going to confront him and finding him dead with a gun in his mouth and that they put him in the tub. This leads them to the contractor of the house the man was found in killing him by accident when a money dispute got rough.

“The Girl in Suite 2103″ - Bones and Booth work a scene of a cocktail party that was attacked by a bomb. It is believed it is a Colombian drug cartel hit. Bones was called in to identify one of the victims that was very burned. She discovers another body based on bone fragments out of place and they find it on a fixture hanging from the ceiling. This woman is believed to have been the bomber or at least was right next to the blast and does not fit in as a person at the cocktail party. It turns out that the woman was a waitress at the bar and was there that night hooking up with a man, who Booth and Bones find at the bar. Zack makes a mini bomb of what happened and is surprised at the power of it, which leads them to think the waitress was killed and the fire started to cover up the murder not knowing the explosion was going to happen. The murder appears to be a Colombian that is about to escape with diplomatic immunity. The murderer ends up giving up immunity to avoid being killed by the drug cartel if tried and put in prison in Colombia.

“The Girl With A Curl” - A body is found in a water filtration system. The body is of a girl around age 8 to 10. The girl is identified as a missing girl from a beauty pageant. The girls father is suspected due to an ugly divorce. Hodgins asks Angela to go on a date and she says no at first, but later accepts and makes plans for dinner with him that night. The father blames the mother for delaying finding their daughter because the police focused so much on him as a suspect. They begin to suspect a brother of one of the other contestants, but his steel boots do not match the steel found on the girl. On the date Hodgins takes Angela to a swing set. A pageant medal that is linked to the mother of one of the other contestants is found at the crime scene where the girl was stuffed in a storm drain. It turns out the steel came from tap shoes and a girl with scoliosis. Booth and Bones watch a beauty pageant to find out what girl stuffed the dead girl in the storm drain. Bones picks out the girl and as soon as they bring her in for questioning she admits to pushing the girl and accidentally killing her. Angela refuses to go on another date with Hodgins because the first went so good and she does not want the repercussions of when it goes bad to affect the whole lab.

“The Woman in the Sand” - Bones and Booth go to Las Vegas to identify a body of bones expected to be five years old. Bones finds another more recent body when she notices a circling vulture. The first body (male) is believed to be a mob hit, but the second one (female) seems to be a domestic abuse victim. The woman’s husband tells Booth and Bones that he recently got money from a loan shark for his wife to get breast implants, but those were not found on her body. Booth and Bones go to a casino to find the loan shark and Booth resists his urge to gamble, as it is an addition he has overcome. Bones almost gets thrown out for counting cards at a blackjack table. It turns out the woman was a fighter and got the abuse from underground fight club fights. Bones and Booth go undercover as an engaged couple to gain access to the underground fight club. Booth gets knocked out at the club by a man that turns out to be an undercover agent not wanting Booth to blow his cover. Booth ends up setting himself up to fight in the club and give the undercover agent a chance to beat him and stay in the fight rotation. The agent gets pulled from the fight and Booth ends up facing a guy that seems like he can easily kill Booth. Bones notices where the guy is weak and Booth takes the man out. In the end it is discovered that the woman was killed with a bat, which was the same as the man found nearby. The bookie refuses to pay Bones the bet money because they have rules about fighters and their spouses making a lot off the fights, which led the woman to be murdered because she bet against herself and then threw the fight.
