CSI Season 1 Disc 2 Wrap Up

by

This week’s TV on DVD Season I am going through and doing wrap ups of is the six disc CSI Season 1 set. I will be posting about one disc each day until this Saturday. Today’s post is a wrap up of the episodes on disc 2.

CSI Season 1

“Friends and Lovers” - This episode begins with Warrick and Grissom working a scene in the desert involving a man who died while running away from something. Nick and Catherine work a case involving a school dean supposedly killed by the founder of the school. Sara works a case involving a woman found in a dumpster wrapped in plastic. The body was supposedly buried in a funeral the week before. The school founder says she killed the dean in self defense. Nick traces the blood splatter with strings to find where the blows were hit and he finds that the assailant would have had blood splatter all over them. The woman’s friend admits to having been there as a witness to the guy hitting on her friend, but her story does not quite match up. The body found in the desert was found to have had gymsum weed. It turns out that the friend held the dean down while her friend killed him. The man in the desert ends up having been strangled by his friend. The body in the dumpster was from the funeral service people taking the coffins to resell. The episode ends with Grissom riding a roller coaster.

“Who Are You?” - In this episode a body is found decomposed in the concrete foundation of a house. A case comes up involving an exotic dancer being raped and the main suspect is Catherine’s ex husband. Another case is about a potentially dirty cop having killed the victim, as his gun is missing a bullet, but he says it is because he does not top off. Grissom brings in a forensic artist to try to recreate the body in the concrete. Warrick and Sara end up in a ‘war’ with the police over their belief that the cop killed the guy and the police saying they have no evidence because they cannot find the bullet. They finally find the bullet in the spare tire of the car the victim was in, but it matches the victim’s gun. It turns out that the police officer was telling the truth about the situation. The rape case turns out that the dancer was trying to frame Catherine’s ex and really it was not rape. They arrest the boyfriend of the woman in the concrete and as they walk him to the car and leave Nick at the new crime scene the boyfriend’s current wife aims a gun at Nick. It soon becomes apparent she is the one who killed that woman.

“Blood Drops” - This episode begins with a woman coming out of her house yelling for someone to help her. Grissom works the scene where a family was killed in their own house with two of the daughters surviving. Sara ends up helping with the scene relieving a police officer taking notes for Grissom who is sickened by the scene. He then calls in the whole graveyard shift to work the scene. On the scene Grissom uses a special device to try to get the killer’s footprints, but it ends up giving them the paramedics footprints. Sara is in charge of the little girl that survived the incident, but will not say anything besides the word buffalo. At first she does not like the idea of taking care of a kid, but instead of letting a case worker take over entirely Sara ends up staying with the girl for a psych evaluation. Warrick finds a tire print in the yard. Also in this episode Catherine’s ex husband ends up filing a report of parental neglect when Catherine forgets to pick up her daughter because she got caught up in working the case. It turns out the older daughter had a guy kill her family because her dad sexually abused her and her younger sister and she had her brothers and mother killed because they did not protect her. It also turns out that her younger sister was actually her daughter and the father was her father.

“Anonymous” - This episode starts a lot like the pilot, as a man is found in a suicide like position in a bath tub. At the lab Grissom finds Warrick and Nick playing a football video game when he gives then their assignment, which is a case involving a car that went off the road in a possible DUI. They make a bet between whether it is a crime (Warrick’s idea) or a phantom driver/accident (Nick’s idea). They person involved in the staged suicide’s has Grissom’s thumbprint planted on the tape recorder. It is discovered that the second stage suicide victim’s ATM card was used after his death and Grissom has the whole ATM machine brought in for analysis. It turns out that it was Paul Millander, who they originally ruled out because his hand was used to make fake hands for Halloween props. He did it because his father’s death was ruled a suicide, but he witnessed it and it was a staged suicide like he is doing. The episode ends with Paul coming to CSI and telling the receptionist to tell Grissom a friend stopped by.
