CSI Season 1 Disc 3 Wrap Up
This week’s TV on DVD Season I am going through and doing wrap ups of is the six disc CSI Season 1 set. I will be posting about one disc each day until this Saturday. Today’s post is a wrap up of the episodes on disc 3.

“Unfriendly Skies” - This episode begins with a plane landing in Las Vegas and requesting police to be there when they land. Grissom and Brass look over the scene, which is of a man dead in the aisle of first class. The stewardess say he had some sort of panic attack and was dead before the plane landed. Nick, Warrick, and Sara then show up to continue working the scene. During the autopsy it is revealed that the man has defensive wounds, aggressive wounds, signs of suffocation, and a shoe print on his neck. Grissom and Sara find body fluids in the lavatory suggesting some people had sex in the lavatory, which leads to an odd conversation between them ending with Sara revealing the details of doing it herself. They take three of the first class passengers because their shoes matched the prints on the victim’s coat. One of the key witnesses ends up being a legally blind man in the first row. It turns out that the man went crazy because he had brain swelling and that it could have killed him, but so could the beatings he got from the other passengers. They recreate the incident and decide it was mostly self defense, but they went too far and killed them as a mob in the end. However, in the end they all went free despite Grissom wanting them put on trial.
“Sex, Lies, and Larvae” - This episode begins with hikers finding a body surrounded by wasps and other bugs. Grissom tries to find the time of death by looking at the insects. Nick works a missing person case involving a woman going missing when she went to LA and her car is found empty at a bus station. Warrick and Catherine work a case involving a painting being stolen. The woman found in the desert is found to have what appears to be signs of domestic abuse, but her husband claims he has never touched her abusively other than wrestling her off him. Warrick and Catherine take ear prints to see if any of the family match a print fond near where the stolen painting was hung. Warrick has a CSI from another shift takes his place in a court case and Grissom then has Sara look into Warrick’s doing of other things on CSI time. The husband almost walks because the bug evidence is not believed to hold up in court, but Sara finds some bullet evidence that could stick. In the end Sara tells Grissom that Warrick ditched court to be at a casino.
“I-15 Murders” - This episode begins with scenes of a woman grocery shopping. Grissom then ends up working a case involving a woman going missing from the grocery shop. In the bathroom of the grocery store they find that someone wrote “I’ve Killed 5 Women. Catch me if you can.” inside one of the stalls. Sara works a case in which a man was shot in what seemed to be a robbery. Grissom confronts Warrick about the gambling, but does not dismiss him. Sara makes it clear she does not like that her recommendation was ignored and having to then work with Warrick. Catherine finds four other cases with notes on bathroom stalls saying the number of woman killed. All of the murders/missing people happened in towns on I-15. They soon then end up finding the first missing woman’s body and they realize she was in a refrigerated truck. Sara and Warrick soon realize that the robbery was faked and the brother did it to inherit all their parents’ money. Grissom and Catherine find out the exact trucker by doing an elimination search of refrigerated vehicles.
“Fahrenheit 932″ - This episode begins with a man in prison for killing his wife and son in an arson fire sending a tape to Grissom asking for his help in proving his innocence. Nick and Catherine work a scene involving a dead man in his car in a parking garage. Brass tries to convince Grissom to not waste his time on the case, as it really seems that the guy is guilty. Grissom decides to look at the evidence and talk to the man anyways. The dead man in the parking garage was killed by someone in the back seat. They find $25,000 in the back seat of the car. It shows that he was a runner placing bets for other people. The arson suspect proves his knowledge of fire because he was a volunteer fireman. The day shift boss gets annoyed with Grissom looking back over their case. The evidence shows that the arson suspect lied in the story he told Grissom the first time. Grissom ends up finding that the fire started with a heater and an outlet. There ends up being a lot of friction between Grissom and the day shift boss, especially when they go back to the scene and crime scene clean up is there. It turns out that the arson suspects wife through a gas lamp at him during a fight that caused the gas to end up on the closet floor and then the space heater sparked causing the fire. Nick ends up finding out that another runner killed the guy in the parking garage in order to get the guy’s route.
