CSI Season 1 Disc 5 Wrap Up

by

This week’s TV on DVD Season I am going through and doing wrap ups of is the six disc CSI Season 1 set. I will be posting about one disc each day until this Saturday. Today’s post is a wrap up of the episodes on disc 5.

CSI Season 1

“Face Lift” - In the beginning of this episode a man is found dead after a robbery and appears to be related to the robbery. One of the fingerprints found in the shop that was robbed matches a 21 year old missing person’s case. Warrick and Sara work a case involving a burnt body. The daughter of the man murdered while robbing the store ends up having been there trying to stop him from committing the robbery crime. Sara thinks that the burnt body spontaneously combusted or at least wants to think that is what happened. It turns out the missing person is the girl raised as the daughter of the man found dead at the robbery. Uranium is found as part of the murder weapon that killed the man, which is something found in older dyes. Nick then tries to find the actual murder weapon at the pottery store that was robbed. Warrick and Sara experiment on a pig to prove his theory that it was a cigarette that burned the body and not spontaneous combustion. It turns out that the woman that was kidnapped 21 years ago and raised by her kidnappers has a split personality and believes Melissa (her real name) killed her kidnapper (who she believes is her father). It turns out that she is lying about the split personality, though.

“$35K O.B.O.” - This episode begins with a couple being murdered by knife point on their 8th anniversary in what appears to be a carjacking. As they start to process the crime scene it starts pouring rain and they hastily process the crime scene. Catherine works a scene of a house collapse that killed three women. When they find the car stolen from the couple Grissom is surprised to end up with a woman falling out when he opens the car door. Catherine ends up going into the basement of the collapsed house and finds it looks like a sledgehammer was used on a support column. Sara and Brass find out the weapon that killed the couple by taking the tip found in the woman’s liver to a knife expert. They find that the woman dead in the stolen car’s blood was found on the couple’s shoes. Thus they believe she was part of a team of two involved in the car jacking. It turns out the support column was hit by a sledgehammer several years before and was part of pubic record. It appears that the husband paid the woman found dead in the car to murder his wife and something went wrong. It turns out that the woman had her husband do the murder and that lead to them all being killed.

“Gentle, Gentle” - In this episode they investigate what at first seems to be a kidnapping of a baby. While looking in the house they find that the baby was murdered before leaving the house. The baby is later found at a golf course. They begin to suspect the brother of the baby killed the baby. They also end up suspecting the mother after they learn that she had harmed her first born supposedly choked and she shook him too hard. They find out that the mother left the baby at the golf course. The kidnap story was made up by the parents. The mother takes the blame of killing the baby supposedly with a potholder to shut him up, however the 911 call reveals that the baby died while the older brother was watching them. It turns out that was just an accident caused by the younger brother while the older brother was not looking.

“Sounds of Silence” - This episode begins with a Sara, Grissom, and Warrick working a case involving a man killed in a hit and run. Catherine and Nick work a case involving a shooting at a coffee house. It turns out the hit and run victim was deaf. The shooting in the coffee house seems to have been a hit. Warrick and Sara end up kicked out of the college for not seeming to understand the deaf community. Grissom goes and smooths things over by going in and speaking with/signing with the person in charge at the deaf college. It turns out the coffee house shooting was targeting the pregnant woman and not the Las Vegas celebrity. The deaf man was killed when two under age kids tried to get him to buy them beer and he ignored them because he could not hear them and they ended up beating him up and running him over.
