March 10, 2009 TV on DVD Releases: Comedy

Here is this week’s edition for TV on DVD Releases in the comedy category.

Family Ties: The Fifth Season - This season is coming out as a four disc set. This season has 28 episodes including two double length ones. The only special feature I have heard about for this release is a gag reel.

Get Smart: Season 2 - This release is a 4 disc set of the second season of the show. This season has 30 episodes.

The Girls Next Door Season 4 - This DVD release got pushed back to March 10, but for a good reason. They have added commentaries to all 16 episodes and over an hour of deleted scenes. I think it also has the first 3 episodes from the fifth season. It seems quite odd that they added those episodes, but I guess that is part of satisfying the fans that had to wait longer for this release. Personally just having all the commentaries gets this my vote as a good release even if I have never seen the show and might not even like the show. Basically I really love audio commentaries and think no DVD release these days should be without one (or more!).
