Murder, She Wrote Season 1 Disc 2 Side A Wrap Up

by

This week’s TV on DVD Season I am going through and doing wrap ups of is the double sided 3 disc Murder, She Wrote Season 1 set. I will be posting about one disc each day until this Saturday. This is the wrap up of Side A of Disc 2.

Murder, She Wrote Season 1

“We’re Off to Kill the Wizard” - Jessica is invited to the opening of a new Horatio’s House of Horrors theme park. Horatio wants to do a theme park based on her murder mysteries, but she does not agree to it mainly because he caters to children. Later that day a shot is heard in Horatio’s office and it is locked from the inside when security arrives. He is found dead and it is assumed to be suicide at first, but the police discover he was killed by a hit to the head and the gun shot wound came after wards. When Jessica goes to the airport to go to Kansas City for the day for some publicity stop, she is sort of kidnapped/forced to go to a private jet. There she meets Horatio’s wife. It turns out that she wants Jessica to help prove it was a murder and not suicide, so the wife can claim the insurance policy. Jessica talks to the secretary and she had a fihgt over a blackmailing that leads her to think there are blackmail files hidden in his office. They find the hidden spot in his desk, but the files are gone. Horatio’s PI is found dead possibly jumping to his death or being pushed to his death (this is obvious to the viewer as we see it happen). She finds out that it is a man that worked for Horatio and did not get the VP position he was promised and the illusion of him not being in the room when he actually was.

“Death Takes a Curtain Call” - Jessica goes to a Russian ballet in Boston. After the performance the theater is closed down because two of the performers have escaped. Her date, Leo, rushes Jessica away as he is helping the two escape from returning to Russia. In the car they hear that a KGB officer was found dead in their dressing room. Jessica agrees to allow the delay of their surrender to the police for questioning and she returns to the theater to get involved in the investigation. The anti-Communist woman that wanted the ballet to stop because it brought Commies into the United States is arrested for the murder because of a fiber found on the KGB’s watch and the KGB’s officer’s skin is found under her nails. Jessica goes back to Cabot Cove even though she knows the woman is not the actual murderer. The Boston police come to her house to search for the two Russian actors, who actually had been staying with her. They do not find the Russians and they are suspects again. Leo then confesses to killing the KGB officer and is arrested even though they all think it is a false confession. Jessica realizes that another ballerina, Irena, was missing from the curtain call. Irena is in love with the male performer that escaped and killed the KGB officer to prevent him from being lost by having him be a wanted man for murder.

“Death Casts a Spell” - Jessica is set up to meet with a supposedly famous hypnotist. She is reluctant to get involved in the hoax of hypnotism. Her publisher’s assistant convinces her to come to a special press conference when he hypnotizes everyone. They arrive late and they hear a sound inside the hotel room. The hypnotist is then found dead with six eyewitnesses, but they do not know what happened because they were at least supposedly hypnotized. Jessica is convinced that hypnosis is real when another psychologist puts her under. Jessica talks to a press member that skipped to hypnosis session and then finds the police are demonstrating a person rappelling down to the balcony of the hotel room. Jessica witnesses a pay off. The police bring in another hypnotist to hypnotize one of the press members again to break the memory block and get eyewitness testimony of what happened. It turns out that he is the murderer and the second hypnotist to trick him to saying what he saw was just a blackjack dealer.

“Capitol Offense” - Maine’s congressman dies while in office and Jessica is asked to fill in for six weeks until the election for the office occurs. Jessica finds out that the congressman died elsewhere than were he was found (his home). Another congressman ends up arrested on suspicion of killing a woman, who took a picture of that congressman moving the body of the Maine one, who they still think died of natural causes. The key to the case is that the man beat the woman, who was blackmailing congressmen, used driving gloves that Jessica saw him with before, but not again with afterwards.

Hey loved the submission, but one thing is bothering me. It appears as though your blog has broken? I am running Google Chrome maybe its a problem with one of my plugins or something like that. I will try removing my newest ones and tell you if that fixes it.
