This week’s TV on DVD Season I am going through and doing wrap ups of is the two disc Samantha Brown Passport to Great Weekends: Season 1 set. This wrap up is of disc 2. See wrap up of disc 1 here.

Samantha Brown Passport to Great Weekends Season 1

“Austin” - Friday night she visits a music club. Saturday morning she goes to a coffee shop that is also a musician hang out. After breakfast she gets a henna tattoo. After a swim in the cool springs she goes to have barbecue. She then watches bats fly out from under a bridge called the bat bridge. After dark she visits a honky tonk dance hall.

“Washington, D.C.” - Samantha kayaks on the Potomac. She then goes to U Street to go to Ben’s Chili Bowl. Saturday she visits the Eastern Market. She then goes to a bar to try and learn how to make special cocktails. For dinner she goes to an Ethiopian restaurant. She then goes to a poet reading. For Sunday brunch she goes to a restaurant with drag queen entertainment.

“Wyoming” - In Wyoming Samantha stays at a dude ranch. She helps round up cattle as her first horse ride at the ranch. She then visits a bar that was once a brothel. On Saturday morning she cleans out the stabbles. She then works with the blacksmith. She then goes rafting. She helps mash the potatoes for dinner. Sunday she learns roping. She then competes in barrel racing at the rodeo.

“Myrtle Beach” - Samantha finds things to do beyond golfing and motorcycling in Myrtle Beach. She goes crabbing. On Saturday morning she visits the shops including a hammock shop. She then learns about shagging, which is a type of dance. On Sunday morning she goes mini golfing. She then goes to an amusement park to ride a slingshot ride.

“Santa Fe” - Samantha starts the weekend with a hot air balloon ride on Friday. She then goes to an art gallery area. She gets a pottery lesson. Saturday she takes a bike ride and learns how to flamenco dance. Next she goes on a shamanic journey.

“Brooklyn” - Samantha starts the weekend at Coney Island. Saturday she helps an artist who uses trash to make art. She goes for pizza for lunch. She then goes to Flight 1 store for travel products. Next she heads to a cookie shop with two bite cookies. On Saturday evening she hangs out at her favorite wine bar. Sunday she visits Prospect Park.

“San Francisco” - Samantha begins in Chinatown where she has dim sum. She also goes into the kitchen and learns how to make potstickers. Saturday she goes to a vineyard. She then works with 150 year old sourdough. Sunday she helps at a cooking school and competes with the teams. For dinner they go to the Supper Club.

“Los Angeles” - Friday Samantha takes a helicopter tour of Los Angeles. Saturday Samantha takes lessons in fight acting. She also visits the Hollywood Memorial Park and sees a movie under the stars. She also takes a lesson in fire dancing using neon flames and not real fire. She also learns surfing and sees a magic show.

“Cape Cod” - She starts with a plane flight over the Cape. She also goes to an oyster farm. Saturday she takes a whale tour. She also visits an ice cream shop where she makes mojito ice cream. Next she goes on a sunset fishing trip. Later she takes a tour of a haunted sites in Provence Town. She hangs out in P Town on Sunday where she hangs with a drag queen. She also goes to a tea party. In the evening she goes to a beach fire get together.

    Oh that brings back memories from a few years back. I used to always watch Samantha Brown on the Travel Channel. Unfortunately my cable provider doesn’t carry it anymore.
